Here’s exactly what happens with your data, plainly stated.
The short version: we collect your email (to send your license key), nothing else leaves your machine, and we don’t do anything with your data beyond keeping the app working.
Purchases
Payments go through Lemon Squeezy, who handles billing as the merchant of record. They process your card — we never see it. What we receive is your email address, used solely to deliver your license key.
Lemon Squeezy’s privacy policy is available at www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy
The app itself
Your license key and activation status are stored locally on your Mac in the app’s private storage (macOS UserDefaults). They don’t leave your device except for one purpose: on launch, Torqer contacts our licensing server to confirm your key is valid. That request contains your license key, a device fingerprint, and a cryptographic signature. Nothing else.
The device fingerprint is a one-way SHA-256 hash of your Mac’s anonymous system UUID. It cannot be reversed to identify you or your hardware — it is used only to verify that a license is being used on an authorised device.
The app also checks torqer.app on launch to see if a newer version is available. That request carries no personal data — just the current app version number.
